Amy Essington

Amy Essington earned her doctorate in American History at Claremont Graduate University and lectured at California State University, Long Beach. Her dissertation was titled “Segregation, Race, and Baseball: The Integration of the Pacific Coast League, 1948-1952.” She has published on integration in the Pacific Coast League in the Journal of the West (Fall 2008) and on Effa Manley in Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture (2001). She worked as an intern at National Baseball Hall of Fame Library, in Cooperstown, New York, in the summer of 1999.
