Virginia Hancock

Virginia Hancock, Professor of Music emerita at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, directed the Chorus and Collegium Musicum and taught theory and history courses. She holds degrees in chemistry from Reed and Harvard and a doctorate in music history from the University of Oregon. She is the author of Brahms's Choral Compositions and His Library of Early Music and articles and book chapters on Brahms topics, particularly his choral music and songs. She has sung in the William Byrd Festival in every year since its inception.
