Stephen Williamson

Stephen Williamson is one of the leading authorities on the life and writings of Opal Whiteley. His research on the Ping Yang School bombing and Asian immigrants to the Mohawk Valley was an outgrowth of his search for the history of Opal Whiteley. For the past fifteen years he has exhibited his photographs and news stories at the Oregon Asian Celebration in Eugene. As chairperson for the Asian Heritage Exhibit, he has also invited other historians to display their research on the history of Asians in early Oregon. He attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport. He has lived in Oregon since 1976. He is a courtesy research assistant for the University of Oregon's CATE: Center for Advanced Technology in Education.
