Raymond Balcomb
Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Balcomb was the pastor of First Methodist Church in Portland from 1963 to 1982. In 1982, he was appointed superintendent of the Metro District of the United Methodist Church until he retired in 1988. Balcomb is a graduate of San Jose State College and Boston University School of Theology. He received his Ph.D degree from Boston University Graduate School and was ordained in the ministry of the Methodist church in 1946. Raymond died on June 10, 2012, at the age of eighty-nine.
