David Runner

David Runner is a graduate of Willamette University and its College of Law.  He worked for the Oregon Department of Justice, Oregon Workers’ Compensation Board, and SAIF Corporation for a total of 37 years, before retiring in 2021.  Most of those years, he worked as an appellate attorney, a position in which he briefed and argued hundreds of cases before the Oregon Supreme Court, Oregon Court of Appeals, and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  This work frequently required extensive legal and legislative history research to determine the intended purpose and meaning of statues, administrative rules, and constitutional provisions.  He is a lifelong resident of Salem with a special interest in local and regional history, and an avid hiker and photographer, particularly in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon.
